Cream Cheese Icing Recipes
Cream Cheese icing is very easy and simple to make and it is one of the best tasting too. It can be paired up perfectly with carrot cake or cupcakes, or red velvet cake or cupcakes.
Cream Cheese frosting
2 3 ounc packages cream cheese
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 1/2 to 4 3/4 cups sifted powdered sugar
In large mixing bowl beat cream cheese, margarine or butter, and vanilla with electric mixer on medium to high speed till light and fluffy.
Gradually add 2 cups of the powdered sugar, beating well. Gradually beat in enoug of the remaining powdered sugar to make the frosine of spreding consistnecy.
Frosts about two 8 or 9 inc cake layers makes 3 cups.
For chocolate cream cheese prepar the cream cheese frostine as directed above except beat 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder into the cream cheese mixture. Reduce powdered sugar to 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 cups.
Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting
10 tablespoons (1 stick plus 2 tablespoons) unsalted butter, at room temperature, cut into small pieces
1 1/2 pounds cream cheese at room temperature
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, whisked before measuring.
In large bowl with an electric mixer on medium high speed, beat butter, cream cheese and vanilla extract until creamy, about 3 minutes. Add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes, scraping down the bowl once or twice.
**this recipe is best if use immediately, if you decide to storage it for another day make sure that you rebeat after before usage.
