Filling cupcakes

I personally always fill my cupcakes, I think that is what makes them so moist and give you that extra surprise when you bite into one. Fillings can be anything like jams, whip cream, butter cream, mousses, or Bavarian cream.

First step to filling a cupcake is to prepare a decorating bag or parchment paper with your choice of filling and decorating tip 230. Insert tip into the center of the cupcake before you ice it and squeeze out some filling. It is as simple as that. If you do not have a 230 tip you can experiment with other tips that look similar remember be creative and use what you have in your cake decorating toolbox?

Icing cupcakes

There are many ways to frost a cupcake, the techniques you choose will depends on what look you are trying to achieve.

Fancy cupcakes

You can use Tip 1M to pipe on frosting the cupcake. Just hold the tip above the cupcake top and pipe a spiral of icing beginning at the outer edge and work your way in towards the middle. Once you get to the center, pull the tip straight up and that's all!
